Official USS New Hampshire Commissioning Buttons "Support Our Submarine"
Portsmouth, New Hampshire (August 8, 2008) - On October 25 the Navy will commission the USS New Hampshire submarine at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. The Community Commissioning Committee for the sub has developed a creative way to engage all parts of New Hampshire in the celebration so residents from Colebrook to Claremont can participate in the effort to "Support Our Submarine."
To defray expenses and let individual New Hampshire residents lend their support the Committee has created an Official USS New Hampshire Commissioning button, available statewide for $3. (The buttons are also available 3 for $10 shipping included on the Commissioning Committee website, www.ussnewhampshire.org
Bulk packs of the Commissioning Celebration buttons are available for companies and organizations interested in distributing them to customers and employees. To encourage distribution, the discount on the bulk pack button allows organizations to make $1.50 per button for their own non-profit fund-raising causes. Businesses and civic organizations can also decide to buy bulk packs as their donation to the Commissioning celebration and simply give the buttons to customers, members and employees. As an added incentive, button buyers are invited to register the number on the back of their buttons at the Commissioning website for the chance to win a package of all the USS New Hampshire Commissioning memorabilia that is being produced for the celebration. The button registration is part of the form which must be completed to request an invitation for tickets to the Navy's commissioning ceremony. Each page of the website has a "Register" link to the form.
