Emerson Process Management Commits to "Support Our Submarine"
Portsmouth NH (September 23, 2008) - Emerson Process Management with offices at Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth has stepped forward to aid the USS New Hampshire Community Commissioning Committee. The company has provided $2,500 in sponsorship funding to ensure a "gold standard" community celebration in conjunction with the commissioning of the new submarine USS New Hampshire on October 25th.
In making the announcement, Emerson executive Chris Scales, Vice-President/GM Fisher said, "Emerson Process Management is very pleased to be able to make a substantial contribution to the community's fund-raising efforts. The USS New Hampshire is our submarine not only because it bears the state's name but also because the sub and the commissioning at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard underscore how important the shipyard and the Navy are to the Seacoast economy, of which we are a part."
Mike Daigle, finance chair of the USS New Hampshire Community Commissioning Committee said, "The Committee is still working hard to meet the financial obligations inherent in hosting the Commissioning here in Portsmouth and we appreciate Emerson's support. We have only a few weeks left to meet our goals, so the timing of this commitment couldn't be better as we hope it inspires others to make the same commitment to support our submarine."
