Teledyne D.G.O'Brien Donates $25,000 as Top Sponsor for USS New Hampshire Commissioning Celebration

Portsmouth NH (October 3, 2008) - As the USS New Hampshire Community Commissioning Committee counts down the days left to raise funds in order to provide a gold standard welcome to the Navy's newest submarine, Teledyne D.G.O'Brien has stepped forward with a $25,000 Marquis Sponsor-level donation.

Teledyne D.G.O'Brien is a leading supplier of electronic and fiber optic components for the Virginia class submarines, including the USS New Hampshire.

In making the announcement, Commissioning Committee Finance Chair Mike Daigle said, "We have been hoping and praying that a top Marquis Sponsor would arrive and we cannot thank Teledyne D.G.O'Brien enough for their generous $25,000 contribution."

In making the announcement of the donation, David Dunfee, Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne D.G.O'Brien, said, "The future of the Navy's undersea capabilities is embodied in the USS New Hampshire. As a Seabrook-based company with special expertise in that technology and a special appreciation for our state, the capabilities at our Shipyard and the strength of our Seacoast community, Teledyne D.G.O'Brien is proud to be the Marquis Sponsor for the USS New Hampshire Community Commissioning celebration."

Acquired in March 2007 by Teledyne Instruments, Inc., a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) Teledyne D.G. O'Brien products transmit signals, data and power in applications requiring extreme reliability.

Teledyne Technologies is a leading provider of sophisticated electronic components, instruments and communication products, systems engineering solutions, aerospace engines and components and on-site gas and power generation systems. Teledyne Technologies has operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada. For more information, visit Teledyne Technologies' website at www.teledyne.com.

Teledyne D.G.O'Brien, a Seabrook-based manufacturer of high reliability electrical and fiber optic interconnect systems for subsea military, oceanographic, biomedical, aerospace and offshore oil and gas applications, was founded in 1962 by Donald O'Brien (a native of Portsmouth and who worked as an electronics apprentice in PNSY for a period during WWII).  D.G.O'Brien products can be found throughout submarines such as the USS New Hampshire and others around the world protecting the sailors from the hostile ocean environment while enabling them to carry out their critical missions. Donald O'Brien founded D.G.O'Brien after a U.S. Navy colleague expressed frustration over the inability to find an electrical connector that could survive in the ocean. Today, D.G.O'Brien is a world leader in harsh-environment glass-to-metal sealed subsea cable and connector systems selling to customers around the globe.

The Committee estimates that the cost of the community celebration will be approximately $300,000, based on the experience of other cities who have hosted US Navy Commissioning events. Sponsorships are available at many levels, from $25,000 Marquis Sponsors to $3 donations from individuals who receive an Official USS New Hampshire Commissioning Celebration button in return.
